Not from within WLinq itself. But you could use the utility SRVANY from Microsoft to do it.
Or you could download and install Freefloat Key*One, use the editor to mark a layout to be used on the logon desktop (Designer, menu Keyboard, command Use at Logon Screen). Then run the layout once (not from within the Designer) to install the service. Then use Regedit to modify the registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Freefloat\KeyOne
Modify the value LogonKeyboard to be:
"C:\Program Files\Freefloat\Freefloat WLinq\WLinq.exe"
Your path may differ.
Regardless of whether you use the service from Key*One or SRVANY to start WLinq at the logon desktop, WLinq will still be running and will have the COM port open after the user have logged on. And it can't be used to send keystrokes to the user desktop when running on the logon desktop. One solution to this would be to use the kill.exe utility (from Microsoft Windows NT Resource Kit) to kill the WLinq process and then restart it in the context of the user desktop.
c:\>kill wlinq.exe
c:\>"C:\Program Files\Freefloat\Freefloat WLinq\WLinq.exe"
Note that you will need to give the users enough rights to be able to kill the WLinq.exe process.
I have tested the above proposed solution (with service from Key*One) and it works.
Best regards
Robert
